How to knit the Two-Color Brioche stitch (scarf pattern)

    March 28, 2023 /

The Two-Color Brioche stitch is a great pattern for a scarf or an infinite cowl (the pattern is suitable for both projects). Why? First of all, because it’s fluffy, chunky, and stretchy, like me. Secondly, although we’ll be using two colors, the join is invisible, yes… invisible! Thirdly, it’s a four-row reversible pattern, identical on both sides. However, the main color will change, depending on the side you’re looking at. Make it for yourself or for your other half, combine the colors as you prefer, and you’ll always have a new design with not too much effort 😉 Last, but not least, if you haven’t tried the Brioche stitch at…

How to knit the Tiles stitch: Reversible and it lays flat!

    March 11, 2022 /

The Tiles stitch is an adorable knitting pattern, that shares the DNA of the Thermal stitch we practiced a couple of weeks ago. Honestly, it’s a great option for beginners 🙂 Why? First of all, it combines knit + purl stitches; there is no need to increase or decrease. Secondly, it doesn’t curl. It’s one of those stitches that lay flat no matter what 😉  From time to time it’s refreshing to have options when we don’t want to think about adding edges or blocking…  In fact, with this kind of pattern, you can start knitting, bind off, and wear your garment straight away! Furthermore, it’s identical on both sides,…

How to knit the Turkish stitch: Lace in one row!

    March 4, 2022 /

In the last post, I shared the Mock Turkish stitch knitting pattern, and some followers asked me if I had any plans to share instructions for the original. Also, in the previous video tutorial, I demonstrated the difference between the yarn over (before a knit stitch, and the “yarn round needle” (before a purl stitch). The good news is that this one is so much simpler, I swear! So today is about how to knit the classic Turkish stitch, an adorable one-row repeat pattern, so easy that it includes only four steps to be repeated throughout the project. Additionally, it’s a reversible stitch, identical on both sides, perfect for knitting…

Garter stitch Rib: A super easy two-row repeat knitting pattern, great for beginners

    July 23, 2021 /

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to knit the Garter stitch Rib, step by step (it reminds me of the Ribbed Garter pattern, we practiced a while ago). It’s super easy to do, ideal for beginners: The only techniques required are knitting and purling, and the pattern is made in just two rows. Although, at first sight, the Garter stitch Rib doesn’t seem reversible, the wrong side of the work looks adorable too 😉 So, it’s the perfect option for scarves, blankets, rectangular shawls, and any other project of your choice (it’s a unisex pattern, so it can be used for girls’ and boys’ garments). Besides, due to the frequent…
