How to knit the Chevron Seed stitch (ideal for baby blankies)
Today, I’m sharing how to knit the Chevron Seed stitch, an adorable version of the regular Chevron pattern (there are many of them, and so far, I’ve shared two).
Maybe, it’s so lovely because of what I call “The Seed Factor”…?
I don’t know if you feel the same, but to me, the Seed stitch is something special. I find it so cute, that it makes me think instantly of babies 🙂
In fact, I believe this pattern is ideal for a baby blanket (although I’d suggest adding a nice edge on each side of the project, that could be made in Seed stitch of course).
The Chevron Seed stitch is a four-row repeat pattern, that combines only knits and purls, so it’s not complicated at all.
However, if you are a beginner, using a marker every 16 stitches could be very helpful…
Why?
Because it involves a “long repetition” of eight stitches, it’s easy to lose the stitch count, if you’re not used to counting.
Anyway, “Practice makes perfect”, so grab your needles, a bit of yarn, and let’s knit together!

CO multiples of 8
1º row (RS): *P1, K3*. Repeat from * to *, to end
2º row: *K1, P5, K1, P1*. Repeat from * to *, to end
3º row: *K2, P1, K3, P1, K1*. Repeat from * to *, to end
4º row: *P2, K1, P1, K1, P3*. Repeat from * to *, to end
These four rows create the pattern. Repeat them until the desired length is reached.
When finished, BO purlwise, after a row 4 (RS).
