Arrowhead Slipped Stitch (knitting patterns for variegated yarn Part 3)

    April 5, 2020 /

This is the third part of the multicolored yarns tutorial series, today we’ll learn how to knit the arrowhead slipped stitch or as I call it… the “Game of Thrones” stitch. If you missed the first part, find it here! A stitch, that is not only unusual but utilitarian and unisex, it doesn’t curl (but it’s not reversible). The Variegated Popcorn stitch isn’t reversible, and it tends to roll up on the sides, so, if you are knitting a piece that should stay flat, my suggestion is to make a nice edge on each side, to avoid the curling. Its tactile, a bumpy and cute texture, makes it perfect for knitting children’s garments, but also blankets, cowls and scarves. It’s a four-row repeat pattern, easy and fun to knit, so it’s worth to try 😀 It’s knitting time!…

    March 24, 2020 /

I’m happy today, I’m starting a new series of tutorials: Knitting stitch patterns for variegated yarns. Not much of my collection uses multi colored yarns, but I just discovered an interesting brand, and I love this cotton yarn… So I decided to research and swatch, experimenting with what kind of stitches work best with these cool variegated fibers. I was drawn to this subject as there is a lot of other stuff out there that fails to capture the true potential of this beautiful yarn. Why? Because we need to choose the right stitch pattern while working with the fabulous color mixtures. Otherwise, two things can happen: Either the stitch…
