In this tutorial, you’ll learn to knit some simply adorable newborn baby booties or socks, with straight needles. Easy and quick to knit, a great project for beginners.
We start knitting the toe, then, we’ll shape the forefoot, and continue forming the cuff. To finish the booties, we’ll sew up the sides, from the cuff to the heel, and then, both sides of the foot’s sole.
40 gr of cotton yarn or Merino wool (Number 1 or Fingering)
Measuring tape (or rule)
Measurement of the finished booties
Foot length: Between 7-8 cm / 2.75-3.15 in.
23 stitches y 40 rows in Garter stitch = 10 cm / 4 in.
