How to knit easy Baby – Toddler Shoes using straight needles

In today’s tutorial, you’ll learn how to knit adorable little shoes (or booties, also called Mary Janes) for babies and toddlers, using straight needles, not circulars.

You´ll remember another pair of Baby Booties for absolute beginners, that we made a long time ago, I think these might be even cuter…

Its so easy, the only techniques required are: Garter stitch, a simple yet discrete increase technique, and a decrease technique so it´s just not complicated at all, at all.

This Baby-Toddler Shoes pattern comes in four sizes: From 0-6 months, from 6-12 months, from 12-18 months, and from 18-24 months.

For the cutest project in the world ever, you’ll need:

2 x US 6 (4 mm) knitting needles

50 gr of cotton yarn (or Merino wool) Nº 4 (or Worsted) #ad

2 buttons (1 cm diameter)

Tapestry needle, scissors, and measurement tape or rule.

This set contains all the knitting accessories you need for every project… #ad

Measurements (foot length)

Size 0 – 6 months: 3.75 in (9.5 cm)

Size 6 – 12 months: 3.9 in (10 cm)

Size 12 – 18 months: 4.3 in (11 cm)

Size 18 – 24 months: 4.9 in (12.5 cm)

A 4 x 4 in square (10 x 10 cm) knitted in Garter stitch using the needles and the yarn mentioned above, equals 20 st and 38 rows.
