How to knit the Stockinette stitch without purling
In today’s tutorial, you’ll learn how to knit the Stockinette stitch without purling: The trick is to knit every stitch on every row when knitting the Stocking stitch.
This knitting trick will help you whether you need to knit faster or even if you aren’t a big fan of purling ;), and it will look the same, both, on the right and wrong side of the work.
It’s really easy, but you’ll need to repeat the second row a few times (3-4 times), until you get used to it, because we’ll be knitting backwards.
One more thing before we start: Please note that when knitting the Stockinette stitch without purling, we will always face the right side of the work. You’ll never turn the work 😉
Let’s get started!
Stockinette stitch without purling
1º row: Knit across (knit every stitch to the end of the row)
2º row: When finished, don’t turn the work, *insert the left-hand needle on the last stitch from the right-hand needle, through the back loop. Bring the yarn over the left-hand needle from back to front, and knit the stitch*. Repeat from * to *. to the end of the row.
These two rows form the pattern. Repeat them until you reach the desired length, and bind off knitwise as usual, after a backwards row.
If for some reason, you want to change to the traditional Stockinette stitch, turn your work after finishing a row 1, and purl across, as usual.

I hope that helps! Thank you for watching, and happy knitting 🙂
