How to Knit the Lace Knots Stitch + Video (cute!)
Today, you’ll learn how to knit the Lace Knots Stitch, a new pattern that I just designed 🙂
Maybe you’re wondering how I came across this idea…
Well, I remember that some months ago we practiced how to make knots, to add extra texture to your Stockinette Stitch piece.
To be honest with you, I love the Stockinette/Stocking Stitch, but I also like to spice it up from time to time.
So I thought that if we combine the knots with little holes (lace-like), we could get a lighter fabric.
Luckily, it turned out pretty well, and I’m quite happy with the result!
The Lace Knots Stitch is without a doubt a delicate, romantic, and versatile pattern (the knots look like Daisies, and you can add more Stockinette rows between them).
In fact, we can use it as the main pattern for a whole sweater or cardigan (or for the sleeves only), and also for hats, gloves, mittens, etc.
Moreover, it will look lovely also on a shawl, wrap, scarf, etc.
Nevertheless, if you decide to knit a garment that should stay flat, think of adding a nice edge to each side of the piece, because it curls 😉
Enough chatting! Grab your needles, and your favorite yarn, and let’s get started!
I made this swatch using 100% new wool yarn (worsted weight) #ad
With one of my favorite bamboo needles (US 8 / 5 mm) #ad
