How to knit the easiest Baby Hat with Bunny Ears for beginners
This is one of my favorite patterns for knitting a baby hat, in various sizes, for beginners, with bunny ears included … If you are a newbie knitter tired of the 150 scarves and assorted multi-colored dish-clothes that you have made in the past, this is your opportunity to level up.
And if you are an experienced knitter, you will also enjoy making it, why? Well it’s one of those simple projects that pairs perfectly with Netflix, long journeys and trips to the DMV. Also, this cute hat matches the Baby Booties pattern we made months ago, this set will leave you perfectly prepared for that next baby shower emergency!
Even your own ; )
What you will need to get started:
MATERIALS
50-70 grams of worsted weight wool (for US 8 knitting needles or 4,5 – 5 mm) #ad
2 x 5 mm / US 8 knitting needles #ad
ABBREVIATIONS
CO: Cast on
st: Stitch
k: Knit
k2tog: Knit two together
GAUGE
Always, always, always, prepare a gauge swatch (if you want the final size of the project to measure what the pattern actually indicates … otherwise the results could anything from a Barbie hat to a rhinoceros fedora … so better to use a few minutes to knit your square of at least 8 cm x 8 cm with your wool while using the needles that you will need to knit the hat). Ideally, it should be 10 cm x 10 cm or even larger.
8 cm equals 14 stitches and 26 rows.
