How to knit one of the most gorgeous lace stitches I've seen

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to knit one of the most gorgeous lace stitches I’ve ever seen!

It has an amazing texture to it, a little bit of volume, as well as small eyelets.

In addition, it’s a two-row repeat pattern; the even rows, are plain purl rows.

Furthermore, the odd rows, where “the real action” takes place, include a three steps repeat. Short and sweet!

And in the video tutorial, I’m sharing how to do it in both, English and Continental styles, so all knitters can do it 🙂

Last but not least, this lace stitch is perfect for a wide range of projects, such as throws, wraps, shawls, tops, cardigans, sweaters… you name it!

Abbreviations

CO: Cast on

st: Stitch

RS: Right side

K: Knit

P: Purl

yo: Yarn over

k3togtbl: Knit three stitches together through the back loop

WS: Wrong side

BO: Bind off

N.B.:

The odd rows form the right side of the work.

The edge stitches will be knitted on each row and purled on every even row.

The cast-on row shouldn’t be tight. If you like the long tail method, use two needles instead of one.

How to knit a gorgeous lace stitch pattern

CO multiples of 3 + 2 (edge stitches); i.e.: 7 * 3 = 21 + 2 = 23 st.

1º and every odd row (RS): K1 (edge), *insert the needle between the first and second stitches from the left-hand needle, K1, yo, k3togtbl*. Repeat from * to *, to last st, K1 (edge)

2º and every even row: P across

These two rows create the pattern. Repeat them until the desired length is reached.

When finished, BO purlwise after row 1 (WS).
