One-Row Knitting Stitch Pattern: Easy, Reversible & Doesn’t Curl! + Video
This one-row repeat knitting pattern is famous across the world, for several reasons:
- It’s identical on both sides, great for knitting scarves and blankies
- It has a rich texture to it and doesn’t curl
- And it’s easy to knit (just 4 steps to memorize and 1 row).

Abbreviations
CO: Cast on
K: Knit
P: Purl
Ktbl: Knit through the back loop
BO: Bind off
One-Row Repeat Knitting Stitch Pattern – Great For Scarves
CO multiples of 4 + 2 stitches, i.e.: 4 * 5 = 20 + 2 = 22 stitches.
1º and only row: *K2, K1tbl, P1*. Repeat from * to * ending with K2.
Repeat row 1 until the desired length is reached.
When finished, BO in pattern, as follows:
*BO 3 st knitwise, 1 st purlwise*. Repeat from * to *, ending with BO 2 st knitwise.
