RICKRACK LACE (Two-row knitting stitch pattern)

The Rick Rack lace is a zig-zag vertical design, to create an elongated look, that flatters every figure! If you are thinking about knitting a sweater or a cardigan for next Fall or Spring, this stitch would be perfect.

It’s a two-row repeat stitch, so there are just a couple steps to memorize (just like this one, beautiful, and pretty easy to knit).

Although it’s not reversible, the Rickrack Lace looks good on the wrong side, and it doesn’t roll up, so it’s a good option to consider when knitting a scarf or a cowl.

Abbreviations

CO: Cast on

st: Stitch

RS: Right side of the work

K: Knit

P: Purl

p2tog: Purl two stitches together

ssk: slip one stitch as if to knit, slip the next (same way), put both stitches back onto the left-hand needle, and knit them together.

yo: Yarn over

BO: Bind off

RICKRACK LACE STITCH (Two-row knitting pattern)

CO multiples of 3 + 1 st; i.e.: 4 * 3 = 12 + 1 = 13 stitches.

1º row (RS): K1, *yo, ssk, k1*. Repeat from * to *, to the end.

2º row: K1, *yo, p2tog, k1*. Repeat from * to *, to the end.

NOTE: After the 2º row, every time you knit row 1, when making ssk, slip the 1º stitch as if to knit; slip the 2º stitch, as if to purl.

These two rows create the pattern. Repeat them until the desired length is reached. To see the pattern properly, you should knit at least 10 rows.

When finish, BO knitwise, after a row 2.
