The Seersucker knitting stitch creates a textured fabric, reversible, perfect to knit scarves and cowls, because it produces a flat fabric. But you can knit a blanket, baby clothing, sweaters, bags…anything you like (just like the Diagonal stitch to the right, from last lesson. Abbreviations CO: Cast on K: Knit P: Purl BO: Bind off How to knit the Seersucker stitch CO multiples of 4 +1 + 2 edge stitches; i.e.: 4*4 = 16+1 = 17+2 = 19 stitches. 1º and 5º Rows (RS): K1 (edge), *K1, P1, K1, P1*. Repeat from * to *, ending with K1, K1 (edge). 2º and every even row (WS): Work each stitch in the manner that it presents. 3º Row: K1 (edge), *P1, K3*. Repeat from * to *, ending with K1, K1 (edge). 7º Row: K1 (edge), *K2, P1, K1*. Repeat from * to *, ending with K1, K1 (edge). 8º Row: as 2º row. Repeat these 8 rows until the desired length is reached. BO in pattern after an 8th row.
