The pattern is written for 3-4 months age, it’s knitted flat, and if you know your knits and purls, you can do it! We’ll knit the same piece twice, and then sew up the sides. The baby pants are knitted from the top down, starting with a 2×2 rib edge, to form the waist band. Next, we split the legs, and finish one leg at a time. So, no more words….it’s knitting time!   Finished Baby Pants Measurements Full length (waist to ankle): 32 cm – 12.5 in Hip width: 23 cm – 9 in Waist to crotch (rise): 17 cm – 6.6 in   Gauge 19 st and 28 rows in Stockinette st equals 10 cm / 4 in   Materials 2 x 4.5 mm – 7 US  knitting needles #ad 125 gr of wool Worsted, Afghan, Aran (Medium or number 4). 1 x Tapestry needle  This set is very handful: from socks yarn weight up to bulky yarn, you can sew up every project you knit!) #ad 1 x Measuring tape #ad 1 x Scissors #ad 50 cm / 20 in of scrap yarn in a contrasting color.   Abbreviations CO: Cast on st: Stitch K: Knit P: Purl  WS: Wrong side RS: Right side M: Marker BO: Bind off   How to knit Baby Pants for beginners   CO 36 st. 2×2 Rib Section Knit 13 rows in 2×2 Rib: *P2, K2*.   Stockinette stitch Section Knit 10 rows in Stockinette stitch: 1º, 3º, 5º, 7º* and 9º Row : K across (RS) 2º, 4º, 6º, 8º and 10º Row: P across *In row 7 increase 12 st as follows: K1, m1L, *K3, m1L*. Repeat form * to * until there are 2 st left, K2. 48 st in total.   Seed stitch Section Knit 6 rows in Seed stitch: 1º, 3º and 5º Row: *K1, P1* 2º, 4º and 6º Row: *P1, K1*. Repeat the Stockinette stitch section (without increasing in row 7).   Garter stitch Section Knit 6 rows in Garter stitch: knit every st of every row. Repeat the Stockinette stitch section, without increasing in row 7. In row 4 (WS), we split the work in 2: P24, pass the next 24 st to a piece of scrap yarn or cable needle, to knit the right leg first. These st will be on hold until we finish the right leg.     Right Leg: Place M on the 1º st of the scrap yarn (or cable needle), to remember that it’s there where we need to attach the new yarn to start knitting the left leg. Continue with row 5 (k across) of the Stockinette stitch section, until 10 rows are completed. Repeat the Seed stitch section. Repeat the Stockinette stitch section, Repeat the Garter stitch section, Repeat the Stockinette stitch section, Repeat the Seed stitch section. BO purlwise.     Left Leg: Attach the working yarn to the 1º st (where the M was placed), and finish the row purling every st (this is the 4º row of the Stockinette stitch section). Continue with row 5 (k across) of the Stockinette stitch section, until 10 rows are completed. Repeat the Seed stitch section. Repeat the Stockinette stitch section, Repeat the Garter stitch section, Repeat the Stockinette stitch section, Repeat the Seed stitch section.
